MyGW email is a webmail service provided by The George Washington University to students, staff and faculty, alumni, and organizations through the university’s web portal. This institution’s web mail is a very convenient, useful, and powerful solution that provides Google (Gmail) based email and calendar services for students, alumni, and employees through their popular GWMail service which features enhanced storage capacity and access to the GWCalendar, which is a time management, organization and productivity tool like no other.
Accessing GWMail is easy and it can be done by visiting the myGW Portal at “my.gwu.edu/mod/email/“, clicking on the “Go to GWMail” option in the center of the page under “Students”, “Alumni”, “Staff or Faculty” or “Organization Accounts”, and then log in with your unique GW NetID and its corresponding password of course. As you can see, it is indeed a very simple process, but if you require a more detailed explanation just follow the steps below.
After signing up, getting your GW NetID, and setting up your account, you can follow these steps to access your account through the university’s web single sign-on page:
How to Login to your GW Email Account
- Visit the sign in page at https://singlesignon.gwu.edu/idp/Authn/UserPassword.
- Enter your username in the “NetID” box on the left below where it says “Log in to Google Mail”.
- Type in your GWU mail password in the “Password” box.
- And click on the red “Sign-on” button.
If you have problems logging in to your account contact the support center at 1-202-994-GWIT, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and ask them for help in order to restore access to your email account and the GWCalendar.
You should also know that you can log in to your GWmail account via an IMAP connection by setting up Outlook Mail for Windows to read your mail and send emails from multiple computers without transferring files or messages. As the university notes in its help page, accessing your GW webmail account via an IMAP connection is very useful for people that travel a lot, so if you’re interested in learning how to set it up, then simply follow the steps outlined in this page.
